Potluck

One of the many ministries provided by the Manassas SDA Church is that of potluck lunches.  These potluck lunches are held every First and Third Sabbath of each month immediately following the church service.  At a glance, one may not consider eating lunch a 'ministry.'  However, the goal of these potluck lunches is clear: to provide a relaxed atmosphere where members can interact and share with visitors and fellow members alike.

The potluck lunches are organized and set up by teams of volunteers.  There are currently two teams; one for the first Sabbath and one responsible for the third Sabbath of the month.  While all members are encouraged to bring dishes of food to contribute to potluck, team members are responsible for bringing addtional dishes or food items (when able) to help account for visitors and any shortage.  The teams also help to set up tables, prepare the food, and clean up.

How can I get involved?

  • The easiest way to get involved is simply attending potluck.   Potluck's are held on the 1st and 3rd Sabbaths of every month.   This is a great time to make friends, and get to know other fellow Christians.
  • If you wish to contribute a little more, bring a dish to potluck.   This is always appreciated.  Just leave the dish in the kitchen--ready to serve--when you arrive at church.  The team will put it on the table.
  • Perhaps you see this as "your area."  Then, volunteer to be "on the team".  Team members are responsible for bringing addtional dishes or food items (when able) to help account for visitors and any shortage.  The teams also help to set up tables, prepare the food, and clean up.
